In this class session, we examined the work on flow theory primarily through the catalyst of Stowe Boyd’s writing on his blog Message, about the web of flow, streaming and flow applications.

Flow theory is itself based on the writings of Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, Mihaly. Three of his books on the subject matter include, Flow: The Psychology of Optimal Experience (New York: Harper and Row); Creativity : Flow and the Psychology of Discovery and Invention (New York: Harper Perennial) and Finding Flow: The Psychology of Engagement With Everyday Life (Basic Books).

All are encouraged to read how this theory is being applied to the design of applications that encourage the public to find flow through optimal engagement.
