How To Start Your Own Blog

WordPress.com is an excellent venue for a Web-hosted blog, and though it may offer less scope than downloading the code and installing it on your own ISP account, it provides a good entry point to the world of blogging. There are excellent tutorials on the Web for how to follow the simple, step by step procedure for creating a blog.  One of my favorites is at http://weblogs.about.com/od/creatingablog/ss/StartWordpress.htm(you may have to click on the link, “How to Start a Free Blog in WordPress), which provides a step by step guide, inclusive of screen shots, to understand the guided sign up procedure. Please follow the steps and create your own blog before our September 1 class. You will be required to post your questions to the blog beginning from his class day.

Once you are completed with creating your blog, email your professor the blog link. The professor will then create a blogroll (list of links on the blog) of all class blogs so you can check out your other classmates’ blogs (and hopefully, begin to follow them and link to them).
